The duplicate petition (C.W.J.C. No. 8498 of 2022) is dismissed as withdrawn.
Summary
Petitioner Raghunandan Prasad filed two identical civil writ petitions (C.W.J.C. No. 7813 of 2022 and C.W.J.C. No. 8498 of 2022) against the State of Bihar and several officials due to a technical glitch. The Court granted the petitioner four weeks to rectify procedural defects in the first petition and scheduled it for hearing on 23‑02‑2026. The petitioner admitted that the second petition was a duplicate of the first and expressed no desire to pursue it. The State had no objection to the withdrawal. Consequently, the Court dismissed the duplicate petition (C.W.J.C. No. 8498 of 2022) as withdrawn, while the first petition remains listed for further hearing after defect correction.

CORAM: HONOURABLE MR. JUSTICE DR. ANSHUMAN
ORAL ORDER
2 19-01-2026 Learned counsel for the petitioner and learned counsel
for the State are present.
Re:- C.W.J.C. No. 7813 of 2022
As prayed for by the learned counsel for the
petitioner, four weeks’ time is hereby granted to remove the
defect(s) as pointed out by the Office, failing which the present
petition shall be dismissed without further reference to the
Bench.
2. List this case on 23.02.2026, if defect(s) free, under
the appropriate heading.
Re:- C.W.J.C. No. 8498 of 2022
Learned counsel for the petitioner in this case submits
that, due to a technical glitch, two writ petitions were filed and
numbered by the office, as the petitioner had inadvertently filed
the petition twice.
2. When both the cases listed today, learned counsel
for the petitioner submits that he is not interested in pursuing
C.W.J.C. No. 8498 of 2022, due to the reason that this writ

application is identical to C.W.J.C. No. 7813 of 2022 which has
been preferred by the same petitioner and has been double
numbered due to a technical glitch. As such, counsel seeks
permission to withdraw this writ petition.
3. Learned counsel for the State has no objection for
the same.
4. Accordingly, this writ petition i.e. C.W.J.C. No.
8498 of 2022 stands dismissed as withdrawn.
