Holding

The Court ordered the petitioners to file an application before the Registrar of Magadh University for resolution and disposed of the writ petition.

Summary

Professors Mahinder Singh and Basant Yadav filed a writ petition alleging that, despite a state grant since 2016, they have not received their salaries due to alleged high‑handedness and irregularities by members of the managing committee of Mahesh Singh Yadav College, Magadh University. They sought the court’s intervention to direct the university and the managing committee to pay the dues and to investigate the alleged defalcation. The court examined the grievance, noting that it pertained solely to salary matters and the alleged inaction of the managing committee. It directed the petitioners to approach the Registrar of Magadh University with a detailed application within four weeks, after which the Registrar must issue notices and decide within twelve weeks. The writ petition was consequently disposed of.
