The High Court directs the Collector-cum-District Magistrate to decide the Anganbari appeal within ninety days from the date of receipt of the order.

Summary

Petitioner Kumari Chinta filed an Anganbari appeal against an order dated 25-01-2024, alleging that the appeal remains pending before the Collector-cum-District Magistrate of Kaimur. The petitioner sought judicial intervention to expedite the disposal of the appeal. The High Court, without delving into the merits of the underlying dispute, noted the undue delay and exercised its supervisory jurisdiction. It directed the Collector to pass a decision on the Anganbari appeal within ninety days of receiving a copy of the order. The period of ninety days is to be counted from the date all concerned parties appear before the Collector. The order aims to ensure timely adjudication of administrative appeals under the Integrated Child Development scheme.
