Holding

The Court granted the petitioners liberty to challenge the Collector’s order and disposed of the petition.

Summary

The petitioners – Baijnath Das, Jamuna Thakur and Umesh Thakur – filed a writ petition against the State of Bihar and several land‑revenue officials. The petition sought to challenge an order dated 03 January 2026 passed by the Collector, Saran, which had been issued in compliance with a prior High Court order dated 26 September 2023. The senior counsel for the respondents argued that the Collector’s order was a proper implementation of the earlier court direction. The petitioners then requested liberty from the Court to contest the Collector’s order by invoking any other legal remedies available. Justice Mohit Kumar Shah granted the petitioners the requested liberty and consequently disposed of the petition. The case was concluded without any further directions or orders.
