The contempt petition is disposed as the retirement benefits have been cleared to the petitioner.

Summary

Petitioner Sukdev Ram filed a contempt petition seeking initiation of contempt proceedings against the State of Bihar and the Executive Officer of Nagar Parishad, Madhubani, alleging willful disobedience of a July 30, 2018 order in CWJC No.2667 of 2018. The Executive Officer filed a show‑cause response stating that the retirement benefits due to the petitioner and similarly situated persons had been cleared. The Court, after hearing, granted the petitioner liberty to raise any further grievance if it persisted, and consequently disposed of the contempt petition. No further contempt proceedings were ordered. The matter was thus concluded without a finding of contempt.

Issues considered
