The Court revived the contempt petition MJC No. 928 of 2021 on account of the respondents' failure to comply with the earlier order.

Summary

Petitioner Arjun Poddar filed an application seeking revival of a contempt petition (MJC No. 928 of 2021) that had been disposed on 13 April 2023 with a directive for the university and related authorities to take specific action within 60 days. The petitioner alleged that despite the court's order, the respondents had failed to comply. The High Court examined whether the non‑compliance justified reviving the contempt proceeding. The Court held that the failure to implement the earlier order warranted revival of the petition. Consequently, the Court allowed the present application (MJC No. 1772 of 2023) and ordered that MJC No. 928 of 2021 be revived and listed for hearing after four weeks.
