Patna High Court

Ram Janki Balak Middle School, versusThe State of Bihar represented through the Principal Secretary,

Decided
Disposal
DISPOSED

Holding

The court held that no contempt of court was made out as the State had complied with the earlier order.

Summary

The petitioners, two middle schools, alleged that the State of Bihar had failed to comply with a prior court order dated 30 January 2024. The State argued that it had complied by issuing an order on 5 June 2025 directing the schools to upload required data and approvals on the Gyandeep Portal, after which the department would review the information. The court examined the show‑cause notice and the annexed order and concluded that the petitioners had not demonstrated any contempt of court. Consequently, the court held that no contempt was established at this stage. The contempt application was therefore disposed of.

Issues considered

  • Whether the petitioners have established contempt of court for alleged non‑compliance with the earlier order.
