DISPOSED

Holding

The Court held that the order dated 03-04-2025 had been complied with, so the contempt application could not stand.

Summary

Petitioner Dhananjay Madhu filed a contempt application alleging that the State of Bihar and its officials failed to comply with the High Court's order dated 03-04-2025 in Civil Writ Jurisdiction Case No.5048 of 2025. The State filed a supplementary show‑cause notice attaching the reasoned order as Annexure‑1, indicating compliance. The Court examined the record and found that the order had indeed been complied with, rendering the contempt proceedings unnecessary. The Court advised the petitioner that any further challenge should be made before the appropriate forum. Consequently, the contempt application was dismissed.

Issues considered

  • Whether the respondents' filing of a supplementary show‑cause notice with the annexed order constitutes compliance with the Court's earlier order, thereby negating the basis for contempt proceedings.
