The court held that no contempt had been committed and dismissed the petition.

Summary

Shambhu Sah filed a petition in the Patna High Court seeking to initiate contempt proceedings against the Union of India (East Central Railway) for allegedly failing to comply with a July 3, 2019 order of Justice S. Kumar that required the railway to cooperate with the Railway Claims Tribunal, Patna bench, and decide a claim within six months. The petitioner argued that the railway had not acted on the direction and therefore was in contempt. The court examined the show‑cause notice filed by the railway and noted that the petitioner’s grievance had been addressed. It held that the circumstances did not constitute contempt of court. Consequently, the contempt petition was dismissed and the matter was disposed of.
