The contempt proceedings are dropped and the petition dismissed.

Summary

Ram Naresh Singh filed a petition in the Patna High Court seeking compliance with an earlier order dated 13 July 2023 in Civil Writ Jurisdiction Case No. 2765 of 2023. The petitioner claimed that only partial compliance had been achieved, while the State contended that the petitioner’s admitted land had been recorded in his name and that other land shares were not recorded as per the documents. The court examined the submissions and found no basis to continue the contempt proceedings. Consequently, the court dropped the contempt proceeding and dismissed the present Miscellaneous Jurisdiction petition. The court, however, allowed the petitioner to approach the court again with any further objections supported by documentary proof regarding land recording.

Issues considered

  • Whether the petitioner has complied with the order dated 13 July 2023 in C.W.J.C. No. 2765 of 2023
