Summary
Reena Rani filed a petition seeking contempt proceedings against several officials of the State of Bihar, alleging wilful disobedience of an order dated 12 February 2018 issued in Civil Writ Jurisdiction Case No. 19546 of 2016. The petition claimed that the respondents had failed to comply with the order and sought their conviction under the Contempt of Courts Act. The opposite party, the District Education Officer, submitted a show‑cause response indicating that a payment of Rs. 1,57,000 had been made on 7 September 2019 and that the petitioner had been receiving a regular salary since March 2012. Upon examining the evidence, the Patna High Court found that the order had been complied with and that no contempt had occurred. Consequently, the court disposed of the petition without initiating contempt proceedings.
