Holding

The court granted the petitioner liberty to approach the authorities and disposed of the contempt petition.

Summary

Anil Kumar filed a contempt petition against the State of Bihar and several officials, alleging that encroachment on his land had not been removed. The court noted that the opposite parties had complied with its earlier order dated 04‑07‑2024, and the encroachment was indeed removed as per the show‑cause filing. The petitioner then sought liberty to approach the concerned authorities for any remaining grievance. The court granted this liberty, finding no further ground for contempt. Consequently, the contempt petition was disposed of.

Issues considered

  • Whether the petitioner is entitled to liberty to approach authorities after the encroachment has been removed.
  • Whether the contempt petition should be dismissed in view of compliance with the earlier court order.

Subjects

  • contempt
  • civil writ jurisdiction
  • encroachment removal
