Holding

The Court held that the respondents had complied with the earlier order, so the contempt petition was dismissed.

Summary

The petitioner, M/s Dina Iron and Steel Ltd., filed a petition seeking contempt proceedings against the Bihar State Electricity Board and related officials for allegedly willfully disobeying a High Court order dated 27 July 2023. The earlier order, issued in M.J.C. No. 2079 of 2016 (arising out of C.W.J.C. No. 14672 of 2008), required the respondents to take certain actions. The respondents appeared before the Court, presented a compliance chart signed by the concerned officials, and the parties agreed that the order had been fully complied with. Consequently, the Court found no ground to proceed with contempt proceedings. The petition was therefore disposed of, and the personal appearance of the respondent engineer was dispensed with.
