Holding

The contempt petition was disposed of as the respondents had complied with the earlier judgment.

Summary

Shibu Das filed a contempt petition before the Patna High Court seeking to punish the opposite parties for allegedly willful disobedience of a judgment dated 03‑12‑2021 in Civil Writ Jurisdiction Case No. 6808 of 2020. The petition alleged that the respondents had failed to comply with the earlier order granting the petitioner possession of a disputed land. The respondents filed a show‑cause memorandum stating that a Circle Officer had passed an order on 15‑07‑2024 granting the petitioner possession and that the petitioner had even affixed his left thumb impression on the relevant document. The court examined the show‑cause and found that the order of the Circle Officer had indeed been complied with. Consequently, the court held that there was no basis for contempt and disposed of the contempt petition. The order was pronounced by Justice Rajiv Roy on 10‑03‑2026.
