Sheo Pujan DasversusThe State Of Bihar

Decided
Disposal
DISPOSED

Holding

The contempt petition is dismissed as the respondents have shown compliance with the earlier order.

Summary

Sheo Pujan Das filed a contempt petition seeking initiation of contempt proceedings against several officials of the Bihar government for allegedly willfully disobeying an order dated 06‑02‑2018 in CWJC No. 16216 of 2016. The State counsel produced a letter dated 09‑12‑2019 from the District Programme Officer, Establishment, Arwal, indicating that the revised pension papers had already been sent to the concerned authority, thereby showing compliance with the earlier order. The Court examined whether there was any continuing disobedience that warranted contempt proceedings. Finding that the respondents had complied, the Court granted the petitioner liberty to raise any further grievance if it arose, and dismissed the contempt petition. The matter was therefore disposed without any contempt finding.
