Holding
The court held that the Municipal Corporation’s explanation was sufficient and therefore dismissed the contempt application, disposing of the petition.
Summary
The petitioners, Md. Manzoor Quraishi and Md. Najam Quraishi, filed an application seeking contempt proceedings against the State of Bihar, the District Magistrate, and officials of the Munger Municipal Corporation for allegedly violating a court order dated 11 July 2023 in CWJC No. 19284 of 2017. The Municipal Commissioner and other officials filed a show‑cause response, stating that the licence for the petitioners’ premises could not be granted at present and that any future application must comply with the guidelines issued by the courts and the National Green Tribunal. The court examined the show‑cause explanation and found it satisfactory. Consequently, the court allowed the Municipal Corporation’s version and dismissed the contempt application. The petition (MJC No. 648 of 2025) was therefore disposed of.
