Decided

DISPOSED

Holding

The court held that the order dated 15 July 2019 had been complied with and therefore contempt proceedings were not warranted.

Summary

The petitioner, Gopal Shankar Singh, filed a writ petition seeking initiation of contempt proceedings against several officials of the Bihar Education Department, specifically alleging that respondent No.6 was willfully flouting a court order dated 15 July 2019 in CWJC No. 9129 of 2017. The State counsel produced Annexure‑C showing that a cheque of Rs.1,71,551 was issued to the petitioner on 16 September 2019, indicating compliance with the earlier order. The court granted the petitioner liberty to raise any further grievance but observed that the order had been complied with. Consequently, the court disposed of the petition without ordering contempt proceedings. The matter was concluded with the petition dismissed as the relief sought was no longer necessary.
