BILAL SHAFI SENDULE AND ANRversusSTATE OF MAHARASHTRA
- Decided
- Disposal
- Disposed off as Withdrawn
Holding
The anticipatory bail application was disposed of as infructuous because the FIR on which it was based had been quashed.
Summary
The applicants, Bilal Shafi Sendule and another, filed an anticipatory bail application before the Bombay High Court. They relied on the fact that FIR No. 236 of 2025, registered at Bhayander Police Station, had been quashed by the same court on 28 August 2026 in Criminal Application No. 1385 of 2026. Their counsel submitted that, in view of the quashing of the FIR, the anticipatory bail application had become moot. The Court examined this submission and found no need to entertain a bail application where the underlying criminal proceeding no longer existed. Consequently, the Court disposed of the anticipatory bail application as infructuous.
