Summary
The High Court of Bombay, Kolhapur Circuit Bench, heard Criminal Appeal No. 107 of 2014 filed by the National Integrated Medical Association against Ajit Sharad Khot and others. Neither the appellant nor the appellant’s counsel appeared in person or via video conference. The State’s counsel, Ms. Mahalakshmi Ganapathy, relied on a recent Supreme Court decision (Celestium Financial v. A. Gnanasekaran, 2025 SCC OnLine SC 1320) to argue that the matter should be before the Sessions Court having jurisdiction. The Court agreed and ordered the transfer of the proceedings to the appropriate Sessions Court, directing the registrar to effect the transfer and the Sessions Court to re‑register, issue notices, and expedite the case. Consequently, the High Court disposed of the appeal and any interim applications.
