Summary

The appellants, Chandrakant Gaikwad and another, appealed against a conviction by the State of Maharashtra. While the appeal was pending, the Additional Sessions Judge, Latur, acquitted the appellants in the Special (Atrocity) Case No. 18 of 2019 on 29 September 2025. The appellants' counsel then applied to the High Court for leave to withdraw the appeal, submitting the acquittal judgment as evidence. The High Court examined the application and the accompanying judgment. Finding no reason to continue the appeal, the Court disposed of the matter as withdrawn.
