Summary

The applicant, Lalasaheb Abasaheb Pharate, filed a criminal application seeking suspension of his substantive sentence. The High Court had earlier, on 21 April 2026, suspended the sentence pending deposit of Rs.50,000 before the Sessions Court. The applicant complied by depositing the amount and service of respondent No.1 was effected. The learned counsel for the applicant informed the Court of compliance. The Court considered whether the conditions of the earlier order were satisfied and whether the interim order should be extended. Finding that the deposit was made, the Court ordered that the interim order of 21 April 2026 be continued until further hearing. No further substantive order was altered.
