The court directed the trial court to expedite the pending criminal case considering the applicant's age.

Summary

The applicant, an 80‑year‑old woman, filed a criminal application seeking an expeditious decision in R.C.C. No. 221 of 2019 pending before the Joint Civil Judge, Senior Division, Aurangabad, on the ground that her advanced age necessitated a swift resolution. The applicant’s counsel argued that the trial court should consider her age in ordering a speedy trial. The respondent’s counsel opposed the application. The bench, after noting the applicant’s age and the pendency of the case, directed the trial court to expedite the proceedings.
