The Court condoned the delay, allowing the revision application subject to payment of costs.

Summary

The applicant, Rajan Vasant Raut, filed a criminal revision application in 2018 but failed to circulate it, resulting in a 73‑day delay in filing the revision. He moved a criminal revision application (ST) No.602 of 2018 seeking condonation of this delay. The respondent, the State of Maharashtra, opposed the condonation. The Court examined the applicant’s failure to circulate the matter and considered the reasons provided in the application. In the interest of justice, the Court allowed the condonation but imposed costs of Rs. 7,300 to be deposited within six weeks, otherwise the application would be dismissed. Upon payment of costs, the revision application is to be registered as per law.
