Bombay High Court

PANDURANG SUDAM SHRAVANEversusTHE STATE OF MAHARASHTRA

Disposal
Withdrawn

Holding

The court disposed of the bail application as withdrawn, granting the applicant liberty to file a fresh application after eight months if the trial shows no substantial progress.

Summary

The applicant, Pandurang Sudam Shravane, filed a bail application in the Bombay High Court, Aurangabad Bench. The trial court had adjourned the proceedings to 22 September 2026 for framing of charge, and the applicant sought liberty to withdraw the bail application and re‑file it if the trial did not progress substantially. The learned judge noted the court’s earlier reluctance to grant bail on merits and considered the applicant’s request for a future opportunity to seek bail. Balancing the pending charge‑framing and the possibility of delay, the judge granted liberty to file a fresh bail application after eight months, subject to the trial’s progress. The bail application was consequently disposed of as withdrawn with the stipulated liberty.
