Holding

The Court held that the 191‑day delay is condonable and that the deposited award amount may be withdrawn by the claimants with interest upon furnishing a satisfactory undertaking.

Summary

The High Court of Bombay entertained multiple civil applications seeking condonation of a 191‑day delay in filing first appeals and the withdrawal of an award amount deposited by the acquiring body. The Court, after considering the applicants' claim that the award was meager, allowed the condonation of delay and permitted the withdrawal of the deposited amount with interest, subject to an undertaking to the Registrar. It also ordered that the first appeals be listed for disposal on 29‑August‑2026, with the appellant waiving service of notice. The applications were consequently disposed of, and the appeals were scheduled for hearing.
