The amendment to the prayer clause is allowed.
Summary
The petitioners filed a writ petition seeking an order that the Special Land Acquisition Officer refrain from disbursing compensation until the title dispute was resolved by a competent court. After the court's order dated 24 June 2026, the compensation was nevertheless released to respondents numbered 5 to 13. Consequently, the petitioners moved an application to amend the prayer clause of the civil application to reflect this new circumstance. The court examined whether such an amendment was permissible despite the interim disbursement. It allowed the amendment in terms of prayer clause ‘B’ and disposed of the civil application.
