- Admitted/Allowed/Granted/Rule Absolute
Holding
The court allowed the correction of the applicant's name in the appeal and miscellaneous application.
Summary
The applicant filed a civil application seeking correction of his first and middle name in the title clause of a previously filed First Appeal and a Miscellaneous Application, alleging a discrepancy between the name recorded in the appeal ('Kashinath Keru Bhogade') and his Aadhaar card ('Kashinath Kerba Bhogade'). The First Appeal had already been dismissed by the High Court on 18 April 2026, and the deposited amount was allowed to be withdrawn upon identity proof. The court examined whether such a correction could be permitted under procedural rules. Finding that the error was clerical and that the applicant provided appropriate identity proof, the court allowed the correction. Consequently, the civil application was granted and disposed of.
