The High Court allowed the correction of the applicant’s name in the title clause of the first appeal and the miscellaneous application.
Summary
The applicants filed a civil application seeking correction of the first and middle name of Applicant No.1 in the title clause of a previously dismissed first appeal and a related miscellaneous application. The name in the appeal was recorded as 'Anandrao Bhaktaji Bhogade' whereas the Aadhar card shows 'Ananda Bhaktaji Bhogade'. The court noted that the appeal had already been dismissed and the deposited amount allowed to be withdrawn upon identity proof, but the discrepancy in the name required rectification. The court considered whether it could order such a correction post‑dismissal. Relying on procedural principles, the court allowed the application, directing the correction of the name in both the appeal and the miscellaneous application, and then disposed of the application. The order was pronounced by Justice Manjusha Deshpande on 20 August 2026.
