- DISPOSED OFF
Holding
The court held that it may order correction of the respondent’s nomenclature and rectify advocate appearances as a matter of procedural propriety.
Summary
The applicants, led by Advocate Yuvraj Vijayrao Kakde, filed a civil application seeking correction of the nomenclature of Respondent No.4 (Education Officer) and the addition of Deputy Director of Education as Respondent No.6. They also pointed out errors in the appearance of advocates in two related writ petitions (Nos. 9700/2026 and 9802/2026). The court examined the application, noted there was no opposition, and found the requested corrections to be purely procedural. Consequently, the court granted the prayer to correct the respondent’s name and to add the Deputy Director of Education as a party, and ordered the corrections to be made within two weeks. The order also directed that the corrected order be uploaded on the website.
