Bombay High Court

DEELIP RAMAKANT DHAKANEversusTHE STATE OF MAHARASHTRA THROUGH ITS PRINCIPAL SECRETARY AND OTHERS

Disposal
DISPOSED OFF

Holding

The Court permits the petitioner to amend the writ petition as sought.

Summary

The petitioner, Deelip Ramakant Dhakane, filed a civil application seeking permission to amend his writ petition (WP/3819/2024) on the ground that paragraph 2 of the application necessitated a change. The State of Maharashtra, represented by its Principal Secretary and other respondents, opposed the amendment. The Court examined whether the amendment was permissible under procedural law and whether it would prejudice the respondents. Finding no substantive impediment and noting the petitioner's right to amend, the Court allowed the civil application. It directed that the amendment be effected within three weeks and that a copy of the amended petition be served on the respondents, who may file a reply. The order is a procedural disposition granting the amendment.
