- Disposed Off
Holding
The contempt petition is dismissed as the Respondent has shown compliance with the Court's order.
Summary
The petitioner, Tanuja Tukaram Patil, filed a contempt petition alleging that the State of Maharashtra had failed to comply with a High Court order dated 2 January 2024, which directed the Commissioner of Social Justice and Special Assistance to issue directions for payment of her father's family pension, gratuity, and other dues. The Respondent State submitted a communication from the Indian Audit and Accounts Department confirming that the pension is being paid to the petitioner. The Court examined the submission and found that the alleged non‑compliance was remedied. Consequently, the Court held that the contempt petition no longer warranted consideration and ordered its disposal. The petition was therefore dismissed as there was evidence of compliance with the original order.
