Bombay High Court

REGISTRAR JUDICIAL HIGH COURT BENCH AT AURAGNABADversusTHE STATE OF MAH AND ORS

Disposal
DISPOSED OFF

Holding

The contempt petition was disposed as there was nothing left to contend after compliance with the Supreme Court’s directions.

Summary

The High Court, sitting suo motu, entertained a contempt petition filed on 2 September 2010, directing that the petition be postponed until the disposal of two Special Leave Petitions (SLPs) before the Supreme Court (Nos. 22370/2010 and 22371/2010). The Supreme Court, on 2 November 2011, disposed the SLPs and directed that shops constructed by respondent No. 6 (a cooperative society) be allotted as per its order. The respondent’s counsel submitted that the District Deputy Registrar of the Cooperative Society had complied with the Supreme Court’s directions. On this basis, the Court found that no issue remained in the contempt petition and ordered its disposal.
