RAM SAHODER RAJWADEversusSHEEL VARDHAN SINGH, DIRECTOR GENERAL (CISF)

Decided

Holding

The contempt petition is disposed because the order alleged to be the basis of contempt has been complied with and the petitioner did not appear.

Summary

Ram Sahoder Rajwade filed a contempt petition alleging that the Director General of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) had failed to comply with an earlier order. The Respondents submitted that the petitioner had been reinstated with the CISF and that the order was therefore complied with. The petition was adjourned earlier because the petitioner did not appear. On the hearing, the Respondents informed the Court that the petitioner's counsel had died and no new counsel was appointed. Since the petitioner neither appeared nor appointed representation and the order in question had been fulfilled, the Court disposed of the contempt petition.
