Decided

Holding

The contempt petition does not survive as the directions have been complied with, and it is disposed of.

Summary

The petitioner, Hitendra Singh R. Chopra, filed a contempt petition challenging the respondents' alleged non‑compliance with directions dated 29 August 2024. The Deputy Collector, Smt. Amita Dhumal, submitted an affidavit confirming that the required acquisition entries for the land in question have been duly recorded in the Record of Rights and City Survey records. The Court examined whether the compliance evidenced by the affidavit negated the basis of the contempt petition. Finding that the directions had indeed been complied with, the Court held that there was no ground for contempt. Consequently, the contempt petition was dismissed and the petition was disposed of.
