ABDUL KHALIL ABDUL RAHIMversusTHE STATE OF MAHARASHTRA AND OTHERS

Disposal
DISPOSED OFF

Holding

The contempt order was deemed complied with by the payment of Rs.3,67,770, and the petition was disposed.

Summary

The petitioner, Abdul Khalil Abdul Rahim, filed a contempt petition against the State of Maharashtra and other respondents seeking enforcement of a contempt order. Respondents No.4 and No.5 filed an affidavit‑in‑reply stating that they had complied with the order by paying Rs.3,67,770 directly into the petitioner’s SBI account in 2014. The Court examined the affidavit and found that the payment satisfied the contempt decree. Consequently, the Court held that no further relief remained for the petitioner under the contempt petition. The petition was therefore disposed, with the Court noting that any grievance about the quantum of the amount could be pursued through the appropriate legal remedy. The order was pronounced by Justice Vaishali Patil‑Jadhav on 21 September 2026.

                 ORDER :-
                 1. None for the petitioner.
                 2. Respondent nos.4 and 5 have filed affidavit-in-
reply, wherein it is stated that the order under contempt is
complied with by making the payment of amount of
Rs.3,67,770/-, which was directly transferred to the account

aggrieved by the quantum of amount determined by
respondent, it would be open for the petitioner to agitate the
grievance by availing the appropriate remedy under law.
