- DISPOSED OFF
Holding
The contempt petition was disposed of as the alleged breach was remedied by payment of the compensation.
Summary
The High Court of Bombay disposed a writ petition after a settlement was reached in Lok‑Adalat. A contempt petition was subsequently filed because the compensation awarded in the settlement was alleged not to have been paid. The Attorney General for the State submitted an affidavit stating that the Collector had complied with the contempt order by paying the compensation. The Court examined the affidavit and found that the compliance was established. Consequently, the Court held that no issue remained in the contempt petition and ordered its disposal.
