MEGHRAJ UGAMCHAND CHAUDHARIversusSHYAM V DESHPANDE AND ORS

Disposal
DISPOSED OFF

Holding

The petition is disposed as the order under contempt has been complied with.

Summary

The petitioner, Meghraj Ugamchand Chaudhari, filed a contempt petition alleging that the report submitted by a committee appointed by the Collector was factually incorrect. The Collector had constituted a four‑member committee which submitted its inquiry report to the Municipal Council, Jalna, as directed by the contempt order. The Municipal Council filed an affidavit stating that it acted on the committee’s report and removed the encroachment on 22‑02‑2013. The petitioner’s counsel argued that the committee’s report was erroneous, but the court found that the statutory directions had been complied with. Consequently, the court held that no issue remained in the contempt petition and ordered its disposal.
