Holding
The court set aside the earlier order and scheduled the matter for fresh hearing on 9 September 2026.
Summary
The appellants, Satish Ramchandra Sangar, appealed against a judgment ordering the production of a driving license. The court noted that a related civil application (No.1616 of 2004) for the same relief had already been dismissed on 2 March 2006, a fact that was not initially brought to the court's attention. Upon realizing this oversight, the court acknowledged the error, accepted the appellant's counsel's apology, and directed that the matter be listed again for hearing on 9 September 2026. The court also instructed the appellant's counsel to inform the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) of the order. No substantive decision on the merits of the license production request was made; the case was simply re‑scheduled.
