The court may correct clerical and typographical errors in its orders.

Summary

In a guardianship petition, the High Court of Bombay noted that the order dated 24 September 2026 contained several spelling mistakes in the names of parties. The petitioner, represented by Mr. Saurabh Oka, sought correction of these clerical errors. The court examined whether it could amend its own order to rectify typographical mistakes without a fresh hearing. It held that such corrections are permissible as they do not affect the substantive rights of the parties. Accordingly, the court directed that the surname and given names be corrected as specified and that a corrected order be issued to the parties.
