- Disposed Off
Holding
The Court granted a ten‑week extension to the State for compliance with the earlier order.
Summary
The State of Maharashtra filed an interim application seeking additional time to comply with the court's order dated 8 July 2026 in Writ Petition No. 9981 of 2019, which had given the State four weeks to decide the representation preferred by the Dhanrajgiri Hospital Trust and to inform it of any monetary recovery. The State argued that there was no deliberate delay and that further time was needed to complete mandatory administrative procedures. The Court, after hearing counsel for both parties, considered whether the extension was justified. It granted a further ten‑week period from 24 August 2026 for the State to implement the earlier directions. Both parties were ordered to appear before the Commissioner of Social Welfare on 27 August 2026, and the interim application was disposed.
