The Court granted a ten‑week extension to the State for compliance with the directions of the earlier order.
Summary
The State of Maharashtra filed an interim application seeking an extension of time to comply with the court's order dated 8 July 2026 in Writ Petition No. 9482 of 2019. The earlier order had given Respondent No.2 four weeks to decide the representation preferred by the petitioner and to inform the petitioner of any monetary recovery. The State argued that there was no deliberate delay and that additional time was needed to complete mandatory administrative steps. After hearing counsel, the Court granted a further ten‑week extension from 24 August 2026 for implementing the earlier directions. Both parties were ordered to appear before the Commissioner of Social Welfare on 27 August 2026, and the interim application was disposed of.
