The Court granted a further period of ten weeks for the State to comply with the directions of the order dated 8 July 2026.
Summary
The State of Maharashtra filed an interim application seeking an extension of time to comply with the court's order dated 8 July 2026 in Writ Petition No.13367 of 2018. The original order had given Respondent No.2 four weeks to decide the representation preferred by the petitioner and to inform the petitioner of any monetary recovery. The State argued that there was no deliberate delay and additional time was needed to complete mandatory administrative steps. After hearing counsel, the Court granted a further ten‑week period from 24 August 2026 for implementation of the directions. Both parties were instructed to appear before the Commissioner of Social Welfare on 27 August 2026, and the interim application was disposed.
