The Court granted a ten‑week extension to the State for compliance with the directions of the 8 July 2026 order.
Summary
The State of Maharashtra filed an interim application seeking an extension of time to comply with the court’s order dated 8 July 2026 in Writ Petition No. 2167 of 2020. The original order had given Respondent No. 2 four weeks to decide the representation preferred by the petitioner, Dhanwantari Charitable Sanstha, and to inform it of any monetary recovery. The State argued that there was no deliberate delay and that additional time was needed to complete mandatory administrative steps. After hearing counsel, the Court granted a further ten‑week extension from 24 August 2026 for implementation of the earlier directions. Both parties were instructed to appear before the Commissioner of Social Welfare on 27 August 2026, and the interim application was disposed.
