The Court granted a ten‑week extension to the State for compliance with the July 8, 2026 order.
Summary
The State of Maharashtra filed an interim application seeking additional time to comply with a July 8, 2026 order in Writ Petition No. 9932 of 2019, which had given the second respondent four weeks to decide the representation preferred by the petitioner and to inform the petitioner of any monetary recovery. The State argued that there was no deliberate delay and that further time was needed to complete mandatory administrative steps. After hearing both sides, the Court granted a ten‑week extension from August 24, 2026, for implementing the earlier directions and ordered both parties to appear before the Commissioner of Social Welfare on August 27, 2026. The interim application was subsequently disposed. The order directed the parties to act upon an authenticated copy of the judgment.
