The Court held that the status‑quo order of 28 November 2001 is revived and the interim application is allowed subject to payment of Rs.5,000 costs.

Summary

Surekha Kanta Majrekar filed Interim Application No. 139 of 2026 in Second Appeal No. 544 of 2001 before the Kolhapur Circuit Bench of the Bombay High Court. The applicant sought revival of the status‑quo order dated 28 November 2001 and directed payment of costs to the High Court Legal Services Committee. The Court allowed the interim application in terms of the relevant prayer clauses, ordering the applicant to pay Rs.5,000 within three weeks and to file the required amendment within the same period. It clarified that the 2001 status‑quo order stands revived automatically and directed that, if the appeal is ready, it be listed for final hearing. Thus, the interim relief was granted subject to the stipulated costs and procedural compliance.
