The Court condoned the delay in filing the appeal and admitted the appeal, while ordering the bail applications to be heard on a later date.

Summary

The appellants Sanjay Anant Mohol and others filed Criminal Appeal No.15850 of 2026 challenging their conviction by the State of Maharashtra. Their counsel filed Interim Application No.2768 seeking condonation of a 94‑day delay in filing the appeal. The Court examined the reasons for delay and found them satisfactory, thereby condoning the delay and admitting the appeal. The State, represented by an A.P.P., waived notice, and the matter was listed for further proceedings. The Court also scheduled interim applications for bail (Nos.2769 and 2770) to be heard on 15 October 2026. Consequently, the appeal was admitted and the delay condoned, while bail applications were set for future hearing.

Issues considered
