The interim application is allowed, permitting the applicant to be added as an intervenor in the anticipatory bail application.
Summary
The Court considered Interim Application No. 3806 of 2023 filed by Sangram Santaram Savant seeking to intervene in Anticipatory Bail Application No. 2737 of 2023. Neither the applicant nor his counsel were present when the matter was called, but the court examined the records. The applicant’s counsel and the State’s counsel both indicated no objection to the relief sought, namely permission to be added as an intervenor. Accordingly, the Court allowed the interim application and granted permission to amend the bail application to include the applicant as an intervenor. The Court also clarified that if the applicant remains absent on the returnable date, the bail application will be heard on its merits, and finally disposed of the interim application as withdrawn.
