The Court allowed the informant to intervene and granted permission to amend the bail application to add the intervenor.

Summary

The informant, whose FIR (C.R. No. 550 of 2025) is registered at Tasgaon Police Station, filed an interim application seeking to intervene in Bail Application No. 475 of 2026. The applicant’s counsel, Mr. Paras Yadav, submitted the request, which was not opposed by the counsel for the bail applicant, Mr. Sairaj Suryavanshi, nor by the State’s counsel, Mr. N. B. Patil. The Court, noting the lack of objection, allowed the request and permitted the informant to be added as an intervenor in the bail proceedings. Consequently, the bail applicant’s counsel was granted permission to amend the bail application to reflect the addition of the intervenor. The interim application was thereafter disposed of.

Issues considered

  • Whether the informant may be permitted to intervene in the pending bail application.
  • Whether procedural rules allow amendment of a bail application to add an intervenor after the filing of the original application.
