Bombay High Court

SACHIN GOVIND WALKEversusTHE STATE OF MAHARASHTRA

Decided
Disposal
Disposed Off

Holding

The Court relaxed bail condition No. 8(iv), permitting the applicant to attend the police station as and when required.

Summary

The applicant, Sachin Govind Walke, filed an interim application seeking relaxation of bail condition No. 8(iv) imposed by the Bombay High Court on 2 September 2024, which required him to report to a police station on the 1st and 16th of each month between 10 a.m. and 12 noon. The applicant's counsel argued that the condition was onerous and requested that attendance be required only as and when directed by the investigating officer. The State opposed the relaxation, contending that the condition was necessary for the investigation. After hearing both sides, the Court, presided over by Justice Shivkumar Dige, modified the condition, allowing the applicant to attend the police station "as and when required". The interim application was consequently disposed.
