The Court directed that the admission of the applicant not be cancelled until 5:00 p.m. on 7 September 2026, thereby granting the interim relief sought.
Summary
Manas Manoj Yelgulwar, through his father, applied for interim relief to prevent the State CET Cell from automatically cancelling his admission to PVG’s College of Engineering, Technology and Management, which was granted on 26 August 2026. The Scrutiny Committee had decided adversely on his caste validity claim on 4 September 2026, and the admission was at risk of cancellation for failure to submit a Caste Validity Certificate by 7 September 2026. The petitioner filed a fresh writ petition (Writ Petition No. 26366 of 2026) challenging the Scrutiny Committee's decision. The Court, considering the pending writ petition and the need to preserve the status quo, directed that the admission not be cancelled up to 5:00 p.m. on 7 September 2026. The interim application was disposed with the said direction, and the parties were instructed to act upon an authenticated copy of the order.
